South Australia Expands DAMA and Permanent Residency Options

The South Australian Government has announced key updates to its Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMAs), following the Australian Government’s first annual review. These changes expand permanent residency (PR) options and make it easier for skilled migrants to live and work in South Australia.

More Concessions, Clearer PR Pathways

South Australia has secured additional concessions that make the migration process more accessible for eligible applicants. Notably:

• English language and age concessions now apply not only to the temporary visa stage but also carry through to the permanent visa.

• Work experience requirements have been adjusted for several occupations, making it easier for international graduates with relevant qualifications to apply.
  

Every occupation listed under South Australia’s DAMAs will now offer a PR pathway via either:

• The Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482), or

• The Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional visa (subclass 494).

South Australia as a Skills Assessing Authority
