Big Changes in Australian Immigration: Visa Fee Reductions & Job Opportunities

As Australia continues to refine its immigration policies, several important updates are set to impact students, skilled migrants, and healthcare professionals. Additionally, the demand for healthcare professionals is on the rise, with emerging roles offering promising visa pathways. Read on to explore the latest updates and how they may benefit you.

Lower Visa Application Charges for Students and Guardians

Starting 22 March 2025, Australia will reduce visa application charges (VAC) for Student Visa (Subclass 500) and Student Guardian Visa (Subclass 590) applicants from select Pacific nations and Timor-Leste. This update removes the previous partial refund system, ensuring eligible applicants pay a lower fee at the time of application.

Key Changes:

  • Immediate Fee Reduction – Eligible applicants will benefit from a lower upfront fee, eliminating refund processes.

  • Eligibility – This applies to primary applicants and their family members who hold valid passports from specified countries.

  • Transition Period – Those who applied between 1 July 2024 and 21 March 2025 can still request a partial refund until 22 June 2025.

Eligible Countries: Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
